Our Experience at the Rent Manager User Conference 2024: Connecting with the Community and Enhancing IT Security in Real Estate
November 7, 2024
The Rent Manager User Conference 2024 in Palm Desert was a fantastic opportunity for Network Thinking Solutions to connect with clients, make new connections, and highlight our role in advancing IT security and efficiency within the real estate, manufactured housing, and RV industries. Set against the stunning backdrop of the California desert, this event brought together industry professionals and thought leaders dedicated to improving their operations through technology.
Engaging with Clients and New Faces
Our booth at the conference became a hub for conversations about today’s IT challenges. We met with both long-standing clients and potential new clients, discussing how our comprehensive suite of over 20 security tools is actively safeguarding businesses today and how it will continue to do so in the future. With an extensive setup covering endpoint protection at both the desktop level and in the cloud—integrated with platforms like AWS and Azure—we demonstrated how a well-structured IT environment is critical to fending off modern threats.
Observing Industry Gaps in IT Security
One of the key takeaways from our discussions was that many smaller companies are struggling to keep pace with today’s security demands. Many businesses still lack basic protections on the desktop and email fronts, leaving them vulnerable to potential security breaches. In particular, we noted that endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions were often missing or insufficiently deployed, creating a significant gap in many companies’ threat detection capabilities. Additionally, email security remains a major area of concern. Numerous businesses hadn’t fully implemented foundational email protections like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, exposing themselves to phishing and email spoofing risks. These conversations underscored the ongoing need for comprehensive security strategies tailored to the specific challenges of the real estate and housing industries.
Deep Dives into Cloud Infrastructure and Security Posture
The conference also allowed us to lead in-depth discussions about the advantages of migrating on-premises infrastructure to the AWS cloud. As more organizations explore cloud solutions, we explained how cloud migration can enhance scalability, reliability, and, importantly, security. With our expertise in AWS and Azure, we are helping clients improve their overall security posture, fortifying their IT environments against evolving threats.
Building Connections with Industry Vendors
In addition to engaging with attendees, we had the pleasure of connecting with various vendors whose tools and services are complementary to our work. Notable mentions include VCS Utility Billing, NetVendor, AppWork, and Parish Consulting. Each of these companies offers solutions that enhance operational efficiency, and we look forward to potential collaborations to deliver even greater value to our clients.
Wrapping Up a Successful Conference
The Rent Manager team put on an impressive conference—organized, insightful, and filled with opportunities to foster connections and knowledge-sharing. Network Thinking Solutions left the event energized, excited about the partnerships we’ve developed, and more determined than ever to lead the way in IT security and cloud services for the industries we serve. We look forward to the continued growth of our partnerships and to helping businesses navigate the ever-evolving landscape of IT security. As always, our goal is to enable companies to operate securely and efficiently, empowering them to focus on what they do best.
